All marriages are a work-in-progress.
Any couples who think they have it all figured out, who think they
have finally achieved the “perfect marriage” are couples
about to change. Tolstoy famously said at the very beginning of
Anna Karenina, “Happy families are all alike; every
unhappy family is unhappy in its own way.” But perhaps that
is incomplete. There are no fixed rules that make a family happy,
any more than unhappy. We must each work to find our own paths to
happiness, and we must always continue to work to find new paths
to continued happiness.
This site is for all committed couples: those
in a marriage that is working, those in a marriage that isn’t
working, those planning to marry, and those in a long-term relationship
outside marriage. |
